Beaten man found in parking lot

A Madison police officer found a severely-injured male in the parking lot of the NAPA Auto Parts store in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

The police report that a 24-year-old American Indian man was found at about 1:30 a.m. by an officer on patrol. The victim was transported to Madison Community Hospital and later airlifted to a Sioux Falls medical facility.

The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing. Any person with information about the incident is asked to call the Madison Police at 605-256-7506 or Crimestoppers at 605-256-7631.
